Lately I’ve noticed a lot of chatter about the one percent.

So now only the one percent control the finances of the United States of America.

How does that make you feel?  I was sitting and talking with my father, who I might add is a retired Army man.. GO ARMY!! We discussed how the one percent don’t really give a crap about the needs of the country.  I kind of took a different approach. I told my father that I see this race to become one of the one percent as an opprotunty.  I mean really very few of us have ever experienced life as one of the three percent so whats the big difference now that it’s the one percent.  I personally know for a fact that it is in environments like the one we are currently in that millionaires are created.  It is in environments like this one that the next generation has the opportunity to make a stand..

With the internet at our disposal becoming one of the one percent may not be as difficult as people think.  I read this book called Crush It by Gary Vaynerchuk and he talks about using the internet to create a pretty nice life for yourself.  I ask you this..

Are you going to allow the one percent to stop you?

Or are you going to allow the one percent to motivate you to do something different.  I’m taking this opportunity and running with it.. and I recommend you do the same thing.  Let’s Go!

As I was reflecting over my life, and what I am looking forward to in the future the Lord gave me an amazing revelation to share. As a single lady, I’m often in the mist of married ladies, some in blissfully happy marriages and some in turmoil. Now, during one of these moments I caught myself listening to a wife that was growing with her husband and things were slightly difficult, yet her strength touched my heart. Of course I was thinking, “I’m not sure how she does it, which may be the reason why I’m a single mother”.. hmmm. I know some of you “single moms” out there know what I’m talking about. My next thought was, “When I get married I’m going to be walking down that mountain with my husband.. NOT up.” At that exact moment God began to speak to me. He reminded me of this past January when I climbed Camelback Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona. He asked me, “How did it feel climbing up the mountain?” I thought about it for a HOT second, and responded it was hard, smile. Then He asked me, “How did it feel coming down the mountain?” I thought about this question for about two HOT seconds, and responded it was HARD. Smile. Wow!

What a revelation. As I came down Camelback Mountain I was exercising different muscles in my legs then when climbing the mountain. I begin to think of all the times I had testified with my tongue that I was continuously climbing a mountain. Never did I once consider that maybe I was coming down from the mountain. Now scripture is clear on the power of our tongue. Proverbs 18:21 states: The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruits. (NIV) While 1 Peter 3:10 states: For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. (NIV) All the times I thought I was still climbing a mountain I could have been two steps from coming off it.. yet because I felt pain, I decided that I must still be climbing, my testimony kept me on the mountain instead of bringing me off it.

Sometimes we are going through hard times and the mountain seems never ending. Well, if you haven’t physically climbed a mountain before, I recommend you take a day a climb one. Going up a mountain or coming down a mountain, are both equally difficult. If you are in the mist of a trial and it appears as though you will never see the end of the mountain. I challenge you to allow your tongue to speak the truth that you are simply steps away from getting off that mountain. I remember when I came close to the bottom of Camelback Mountain, I ran to get off, I pressed through. Versus going up the mountain when I stopped and had some water, ate a granola bar, and relaxed before taking the next steps. Is it possible you are at the end of your trial, yet your muscles hurt from coming down? Is it possible that you are two steps from Victory? Absolutely! So simply Get up and press and get off that mountain.

Is there room for Faith in your business? Well, if you haven’t asked yourself this question, you should. Do you honestly have “Faith” that your business will succeed? Well let’s start with the definition of Faith. Webster dictionary states that Faith is a firm belief in something for which there is no proof and something that is believed especially with strong conviction. The Holy Bible states that Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). Now back to the initial question. Is there room for Faith in your business? Absolutely, you really can’t have a successful business without faith. Many times we run into our business with one focus… the “payday”. We follow the steps given to us, rather right or wrong in hopes of that “payday”. Now, your “payday” may be a vacation for your family, it may be a physical check, it may be a desire to belong… either way whatever the “payday”.. we run toward it with blinders. Then that day comes along when everything that can go right doesn’t, and everything that can go wrong does. You are stuck in a position when you have to decide rather that “payday” is worth the trouble. You have to decide rather you are going to continue on this uncomfortable journey for a “payday” that you have never seen. That “payday” that you don’t even know exist. All of a sudden a need for faith has peaked in your business.

Faith is so important in business that Napoleon Hill dedicated Step 2 in Think and Grow Rich to Faith. Mr. Hill stated that, “Faith is the starting point of all accumulation of riches!” Once you decided to go into business, you basically made a decision to believe in something that did not yet exist. You had the Faith to push forward. Sometimes we are side tracked and we forget that our Faith can take us through any situation. Even Napoleon Hill points out that without Faith you have basically skipped a VERY important step in finding success in your business.

Now that you know Faith is necessary in order to have success in business, how much Faith do you have? In Matthew 17:20 Jesus stated, “if you have Faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.” Now that is powerful. Each day I wake up and begin my day knowing that my Faith will take me to the next step of success in my business. I’m reminded daily of the reasons why I’m building a business. Why I’m self-employed. Why I do not have to clock in to a boss each day. How am I reminded, you may ask.. Well, I have a list written out that states about 15 reasons why I am in business for myself. I add to it every time I cross an accomplishment off of it. All of the items listed are things that are “unseen”. Yet, as I cross items off I’m reminded that there was once a day when I could not see those items. If you find yourself getting stuck and not able to overcome an obstacle that makes it appear as though the things you are having Faith for are too hard to attain, simply write out a list, and hold on to your Faith. Remember without Faith you would not have made it this far, so hold on to your Faith to reach the top of the next mountain.

As a Network Marketer with 14 years of experience, I have been fooled by many amateur network marketers out here acting like Professional network marketers. Now, I would love to sit here and tell you that I saw every single amateur up front and did not join them in business and end up losing my investment, yet that statement would be a lie. The good news is after making several poor choices on who to join, I begin to see a common thread between amateurs and professionals. After reading this information you should see an amateur after a few words are exchanged. Now some wonder why it matters rather the person sharing the opportunity is an amateur or a professional, they are starting their own business.. right? Well, it matters.. it matters A LOT. See the person you join in your Network Marketing business can either help lead you straight to success or they can lead you in the direction opposite of success. So working with a professional gives you a better chance of having success.

Now the first thing I noticed about amateurs in network marketing is that the first thing they tell you is they have a business that is better than white rice, and you must join. You may say that all Network Marketers say those words. The issue here is that you haven’t asked them about starting a business. You really haven’t told them anything at all. If this occurs slowly pull out your red flag and hold it close. Now the Professional will gather some information prior to mentioning anything about their business. See the professional understands that their business is not for everyone. The Professional realizes, they really do not want to work with everybody, therefore they need to kind of interview individuals to see they are a good match.

Another way to tell the amateur is by the way they listen and respond to your questions. If the person is avoiding all your questions and if every response tells about something they have accomplished, pull out the red flag. See a true Professional does not have to brag about their self every time you ask them a question. They simply answer your question with confidence. Many amateur network marketers are so busy trying to convince you of all that they have accomplished that they avoid the questions. They also have poor training. Professional network marketers will answer your questions and make sure you have enough information to make a logical decision, because the professional understands that if you have all the information up front it will avoid problems on the back end.

Finally, look for third party references about the individual with whom you are speaking. Do some research and make sure that they are connected to individuals who can actually help guide you to success. Make sure there is a team with the individual, and not just the individual working solo. One thing I have learned from many years in this industry is that it takes a TEAM. I also realized that there is not an “I” in TEAM. As you search for a business to take your family to the next level, make sure that you are ignoring the amateurs and attaching yourself to a Professional.
